Archdiocese names COO
Delaney Clement has been selected as the chief operating officer of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, assuming responsibilites Feb. 20. As COO, Clement oversees functions including Catholic education and formation, communication, stewardship and giving, archdiocesan archives and human resources.
Clement previously served in leadership at Boeing and has experience in engineering, operations management and strategic planning. She and her husband, Ben, have three children, ages 6, 3 and 2. They are parishioners at St. Margaret of Scotland in St. Louis.
“I am profoundly humbled to step into the role of Chief Operating Officer at the Archdiocese of St. Louis,” Clement said. “As a woman with a young family deeply immersed in our parish and the Catholic school system, my personal commitment intertwines with my professional dedication. I eagerly anticipate blending my corporate background with a fresh perspective, working to guide the next generation of Catholics in our vibrant community.”
“The Song of Mark”
Marty Haugen’s musical, “The Song of Mark,” will be performed at three churches in the archdiocese in late February and early March. Based on the life of Jesus as recounted in the Gospel of Mark, the performance includes musicians from a variety of churches and is presented with the support of the St. Louis chapter of the National Association of Pastoral Musicians. Dates and locations are Friday, Feb. 23, at 7:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Church, 567 St. Joseph Lane in Manchester; Sunday, Feb. 25, at 2:30 p.m. at St. Joan of Arc Church, 5800 Oleatha in south St. Louis; and Friday, March 1, at 7 p.m. at Christ the King Church, 7316 Balson in University City. Performances are free and open to the public. A freewill offering will be accepted.
Lenten Day of Recollection
Archbishop Mitchell T. Rozanski will lead a Lenten Day of Recollection and Reconciliation on Saturday, March 2, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis. The day of reflection, recollection and reconciliation begins at 1 p.m. and features spiritual conferences led by Archbishop Rozanski, followed by exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, sacrament of reconciliation and the Stations of the Cross. The gathering will end with Evening Vespers at 4:30 p.m. and Mass at 5 p.m.
Healing retreat
Men, women and couples wounded by abortion are invited to attend the “Holy Family Hope & Healing Ministry Retreat” March 1-3. Held in a confidential, prayerful setting in St. Louis, the retreat is offered through the Archdiocese of St. Louis’ Abortion Healing Ministry. A trained, compassionate team, including a licensed counselor and priest, will lead participants through the critical steps of healing after abortion. Lenten mission concert with David Kauffman
Songwriter, recording artist and filmmaker David Kauffman will lead a Lenten mission concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, at Mary Queen of Peace Church, 676 W. Lockwood Ave. in Webster Groves. Through song and stories, Kauffman will prepare participants to experience the upcoming passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Admission is free.
Gabriel’s Retreat
The next Gabriel’s Retreat for women facing unexpectedness in her pregnancy or new motherhood will be held on Saturday, March 23, at the LaSalle Retreat Center in Wildwood. The daylong retreat will provide an environment of love and support and counseling or spiritual direction, if desired. The retreat is free and open to any pregnant or new mother, up to one year postpartum, regardless of faith, marital status or pregnancy situation.
