Jesus in Space
Cecilia Cicone, author of “Jesus in Space,” the true story of the Communion service aboard the 1994 NASA STS-59 shuttle mission, will join with the Daughters of St. Paul for two events at Pauline Books & Media, 9804 Watson Road in Crestwood. Cicone will give a talk to adults, “The Eucharist as the Source of Evangelization,” from 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 7. Register at www.tinyurl.com/8xb79e6m. She also will lead a children’s session, including story time, activity and prayer in the chapel, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Thursday, June 8. All children are welcome, but especially 6- to 10-year-olds. Pilgrimage of Beauty in St. Charles
The Eucharistic Revival of the Archdiocese of St. Louis is offering a Pilgrimage of Beauty in the St. Charles Deanery. The pilgrimage will include stops at seven different churches from 7-8 p.m. on Wednesdays beginning in June. The hour begins with a prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, followed by a short history of the church. A tour of the church’s treasures will be an opportunity to recognize and appreciate the truth and beauty of the sacrament of the Eucharist as it is mirrored in the beauty of the treasures of the church. Each visit ends with Benediction.
Dates and locations include June 7, Assumption in O’Fallon; June 14, Immaculate Conception in Old Monroe; June 21, St. Paul in St. Paul; June 28, All Saints in St. Peters; July 5, St. Peter in St. Charles; July 12, the Shrine of St. Rose Philippine Duchesne in St. Charles; and July 19, Immaculate Conception in Dardenne Prairie. Ven. Fulton Sheen pilgrimage
All are invited to join the archdiocesan Mission Office on June 16 for a day trip to visit the tomb and museum of Venerable Fulton Sheen in Peoria, Illinois. The agenda also includes Mass and a tour at the Cathedral of St. Mary. Cost is $60 per person, which includes bus transportation, box lunch at the museum and light snacks/refreshments on the bus. Forgive Us Our Trespasses/Maafa Procession
The Archdiocese of St. Louis, led by Archbishop Mitchell T. Rozanski, will host the second annual Forgive Us Our Trespasses Prayer Service and Maafa Procession in Downtown St. Louis to commemorate the approximately 2 million lives lost during the Middle Passage of the Atlantic slave trade. The event begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 17, at the Basilica of St. Louis, King of France (Old Cathedral), 209 Walnut St., with a prayer service and continues with a remembering ceremony at the south pond of the Arch grounds, followed by a one-mile procession to St. John the Apostle and Evangelist Church.
