Places to Pray book signings
Patrick Murphy will give a presentation and book signing of his latest book, “Places to Pray: Catholic Sites in Missouri” at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 19, at the All Saints Parish Ministry Center, 310 Cardinal Drive in St. Peters. “Places to Pray” details shrines, churches and monasteries throughout the state of Missouri and also includes accompanying prayers and information about saints and devotions. The La Salle Retreat Center will also host Murphy for a book signing from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, at the retreat center, 2101 Rue De LaSalle in Wildwood. Young Catholic Professionals speaker series
Catholic Charities of St. Louis and the Young Catholic Professionals of St. Louis will hosting a talk and Q&A from Jared Bryson, Catholic Charities of St. Louis president, from 6-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, at the Rhone Rum Bar, 2107 Choteau Ave. The event is free to attend, will be business casual and include drinks and appetizers. Divine Liturgy for Ukraine
A Divine Liturgy in remembrance of the victims of the war in Ukraine will be celebrated at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis. Bishop Benedict Aleksiychuk, Ukrainian Catholic Eparch of Chicago, will preside at the liturgy, and Archbishop Mitchell T. Rozanski will be preaching. Divine Liturgy is a term used by Eastern Catholic Churches for their Mass. Catholics are welcome to participate and receive Eucharist during the liturgy.
Execution scheduled
The Missouri Supreme Court has set an execution date of June 6 for Michael Tisius. Tisius was convicted of killing two prison guards and has been on Missouri’s death row since October 2001. The Missouri Catholic Conference intends to submit a clemency letter to Gov. Mike Parson on Tisius’ behalf.

Lenten devotional concert
The choir of St. Francis Borgia Parish in Washington will offer a Lenten devotional concert, “The Way of the Cross,” on Sunday, March 26, at 3 p.m. at Holy Redeemer Church, 17 Joy Avenue in Webster Groves. The concert is based on the Stations of the Cross, and there is a song to reflect on each of the 14 stations. It has been offered every year, except during the pandemic, since 1997. The free concert lasts about 75 minutes.
