Lecture on Jesus and Judaism
Dr. Amy-Jill Levine, a professor of New Testament and Jewish Studies at the Hartford International University for Religion and Peace, will deliver a lecture, “Jesus and Judaism: The Connection Matters,” at 7 p.m., Thursday, March 2, at the Sinquefield State Room in DuBourg Hall on the campus of Saint Louis University. The lecture is sponsored by SLU’s Department of Theological Studies and the Division of Mission and Identity.
Eucharistic miracles exhibit
The Vatican International Exhibit of Eucharistic Miracles will be displayed in Perryville from March 18-20. The walk-through exhibit includes 126 Vatican-authenticated eucharistic miracles of the world. It will be available for viewing from 3-7 p.m. March 18, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. March 19, and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. March 20 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 31 S. Church St. in Perryville. Lenten retreat in Villa Ridge
St. John the Baptist-Gildehaus Parish in Villa Ridge is hosting its second annual Lenten retreat for men and women on Saturday, March 18. Participants will explore the why, when and how to praise God. Speakers include Deacon Randy Maune, a permanent deacon, spiritual director and parish life coordinator; Tom Naes, a Baptist preacher and director of the Bethel Easter Walk; and Lisa Carver McDonald, a women’s Bible study leader. Retreat for expecting mothers
Gabriel’s Retreat Ministries will host a weekend retreat for women experiencing unexpected pregnancies of any kind from March 24-26 at LaSalle Retreat Center, 2101 Rue De La Salle Drive in Wildwood. The Catholic-based retreat provides an environment of love and support, optional spiritual direction or counseling, private rooms, meals and transportation to and from the retreat center if needed.
