The Cost of Violence
Mary Mother of the Church in south St. Louis County will host “The Cost of Violence,” a two-part series on issues including gun violence, suicide, domestic violence and human trafficking. On Saturday, Sept. 28, Marian McCord, co-founder and CEO emeritus of CHADS Coalition for Mental Health, will discuss suicide; and Jessica Woolbright, executive director of Saint Martha’s, will talk about domestic violence. On Saturday, Oct. 19, SSM Health Chief Community Officer Dr. Alexander Garza will address the public health crisis of gun violence, and Gateway Alliance Against Human Trafficking executive director Shima Rostami will discuss human trafficking. Each session will be held from 10 a.m.-1:45 p.m., and doors open at 9:30 a.m. Sessions are free and lunch will be provided. To sign up, visit stlreview.com/3MJhuyx.
