Statement on Fr. Robert Osborne
From May 2009: After additional information was obtained, Bisho Hermann removed the faculties of Father Osborne in the archdiocese

Earlier this month, Deacon Phil Hengen, director of the Office of Child and Youth Protection for the archdiocese, issued a statement regarding Marianist Father Robert Osborne, who was serving as visiting priest at St. Peter Parish in Kirkwood.
The statement from the archdiocese is:
“Upon obtaining new information regarding a previous investigation involving Rev. Robert Osborne, a priest in The Society of Mary (Marianists), Archdiocesan Administrator Bishop Robert J. Hermann has removed Rev. Osborne’s priest faculties. As a result, Rev. Osborne may no longer live in residence within any Archdiocesan parish rectory and may not celebrate Mass publicly.”
Father Osborne left his position at St. John Vianney High School in Kirkwood in February 2006 after a lawsuit was filed against him, the school and the Marianists by the father of a student. The priest addressed students that day, telling them that the allegations that he improperly touched a teen were “completely unfounded.”
