St. Vincent de Paul Society USA names new CEO
The St. Louis-based Society of St. Vincent de Paul USA has named Michael Acaldo as CEO, effective Oct. 1. Acaldo has served as CEO of the St. Vincent de Paul Diocesan Council of Baton Rouge in Louisiana. A native of Baton Rouge, Michael has been a member of the Vincentian family since 1990. In Baton Rouge, he oversaw the founding of an emergency shelter program, helped establish the St. Vincent de Paul Community Pharmacy, the first SVDP Charitable Pharmacy in the nation, and the Baton Rouge St. Vincent de Paul Dining Room, which served over 300,000 meals to neighbors in need in 2023. The National Council of the U.S. Society of St. Vincent de Paul provides financial support, best practices, training, education and spiritual formation for the growth and health of the Society’s councils, conferences and special works.
