Frangie to lead archdiocese’s communications, planning
Archbishop Robert J. Carlson has appointed Peter Frangie as executive director of strategic communications and planning for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
“This is an incredible opportunity for me in that it brings together my faith with my career in communications,” Frangie, a parishioner at St. Peter in Kirkwood, stated in a news release. “I’m excited to join the archdiocese in finding new and innovative ways to share the impactful stories of the Church’s work in the St. Louis community.”
Frangie previously worked as a senior director of media and public relations for St. Louis-based Centene. He also was an executive producer in financial television, working for CNBC in New York and leading the launch of Fox Business Network.
Frangie will support Archbishop Carlson and the archdiocesan leadership team in all communication needs, including fostering relationships with parishes and the media within the archdiocese. He is tasked with assisting parishes and agencies with evangelization efforts to spread the joy of the Gospel in ways consistent with the archbishop’s vision and pastoral priorities for the local Church.
Frangie’s role is crucial in identifying emerging opportunities and challenges faced by the archdiocese to create and implement proactive communication, according to Archbishop Carlson. “His understanding of the transformation of the media industry, mixed with his deep-rooted passion for Jesus Christ, will help move our communication initiatives to a new level,” Archbishop Carlson stated in the news release.
Frangie began his new duties Jan. 28.
