Cardinal Ritter president receives NCEA award

Cardinal Ritter College Prep High School president Tamiko Armstead was one of several recipients of the National Catholic Educational Association 2025 President’s and Lifetime Commitment Awards. “These leaders embody the essence of servant leadership, bringing faith and purpose to their work in Catholic education,” Cheeseman said in a press release. “By their example, they show us how to live out our shared mission of shaping lives and building communities grounded in the love of Christ. We honor their inspiring commitment to this sacred work.”

Free gun safety locks

In recognition of Gun Violence Awareness Month, the Archdiocese of St. Louis Gun Violence Prevention Task Force is providing free gun safety locks. Through a partnership with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, gun locks are now available at archdiocesan vicariate offices, the Cardinal Rigali Center and participating parishes in the archdiocese. To request a gun safety lock, contact any parish office or email GVPTF@archstl.org. The archdiocese is commemorating the month with several initiatives focused on education, prevention, and advocacy. Jubilee walking pilgrimage

St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Oakville will host a Jubilee Year walking pilgrimage on Saturday, June 21. The event will begin with 7:45 a.m. Mass at St. Francis of Assisi; the pilgrimage will travel to the Basilica of St. Louis, King of France (Old Cathedral), St. Francis Xavier (College) Church, the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis, Our Lady of Lourdes Church and the Carmelite Monastery. Forgive Us Our Trespasses/Maafa Procession

The Archdiocese of St. Louis, led by Archbishop Mitchell T. Rozanski, will host the fourth annual Forgive Us Our Trespasses Prayer Service and Maafa Procession in Downtown St. Louis to commemorate the approximately 2 million lives lost during the Middle Passage of the Atlantic slave trade. The event begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 21, at the Basilica of St. Louis, King of France (Old Cathedral), 209 Walnut St., with a prayer service and continues with a remembering ceremony at the south pond of the Arch grounds, followed by a one-mile procession to St. John the Apostle and Evangelist Church. Pipe for Parkinson’s concert

“Pipes for Parkinson’s,” an organ concert to benefit the American Parkinson Disease Association, will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at Sacred Heart Church, 751 N.
