Claver House open house and bike ride
Claver House, a resident volunteer community near St. Matthew the Apostle Church in the Ville Neighborhood of north St. Louis, will host an open house and bike ride on Saturday, Sept. 16. Routes of 5 and 20 miles will begin and end at the Clocktower on Saint Louis University’s campus, with lunch to follow at Claver House. Registration is at 9:30 a.m., and both rides begin at 10 a.m. An open house will take place from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Claver House, 4155 Kennerly Ave.
Since opening in 1999, the house has served as a gathering place within the historic Ville neighborhood for individuals in the community and volunteers (including individuals associated with the Jesuits and St. Matthew) to connect and collaborate. Programs include Project Read and Feed, Science Saturdays, a summer camp and landscaping program. To learn more about Claver House or register for the event, visit www.revitalization2000.com.
Made for More series
Father Craig Holway will give a talk as part of the Made for More Speaker Series at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, at Mary Queen of Peace Parish in Webster Groves. SEEK preview
The Archdiocese of St. Louis and FOCUS (Fellowship of Catholic University Students) will offer a free SEEK Conference preview, SEEK First, from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at St. Louis University High School. Featured speakers will be Archbishop Mitchell T. Rozanski and FOCUS founder Curtis Martin. Pope Francis recently appointed Martin a consultor for the Vatican’s Dicastery for Evangelization.

Surviving Divorce
“Surviving Divorce: Hope and Healing for the Catholic Family,” a 12-week DVD program, will begin Wednesday, Oct. 18, at Immaculate Conception Parish in Dardenne Prairie. Sessions will be held at 7 p.m. and will feature Catholic experts who present Church teaching, along with lay men and women who share their challenges on the way to healing.
