Incarnate Word Academy, a Catholic college-preparatory high school for young women in St. Louis is seeking a full-time Athletic Director to lead a tradition rich, decades long successful program both on and off the field.
The Athletic Director (AD) provides visionary leadership cultivating a culture of sportsmanship, character and excellence.  This individual plays an integral role in advancing the mission and values of IWA through the continuous development and management of a vibrant athletic program committed to excellence.
The AD reports to the Assistant Principal and is a member of the Administrative Team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required;  Master’s Degree in Athletic Administration, Education, or related field preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of MSHSAA rules and regulations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask many projects simultaneously.
  • Track record of leadership in athletics and the ability to inspire and motivate coaches and student athletes.
  • Proven experience in budgeting, scheduling and program development.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in technology and scheduling software.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Continuous development and evaluation of the athletic program, ensuring alignment with the mission and values of IWA.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment for all student-athletes while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, character and faith development.
  • Manage the athletic budget, including fundraising, resources, procurement and financial reporting.
  • Hire, supervise, and evaluate coaches and other athletic staff and provide professional development opportunities for coaches.
  • Ensure compliance with MSHSAA and handle all MSHSAA related compliance documentation.
  • Oversee scheduling for games, practices, and events, manage facility usage including concessions and maintenance for athletic activities.
  • Serve as liaison with the Booster Club which involves organizing fundraising events such as the Golf Tournament, Trivia Knight and other community engagement activities to support the athletic department.
