MCC Citizen Recognition Award
Mark Dunn, an attorney and member of St. Clement of Rome Parish in Des Peres, is one of several recipients of this year’s Missouri Catholic Conference Citizen Recognition Award. A founding member of Dunn & Miller, P.C., he has built a distinguished legal career while remaining actively engaged in service to the Church and the broader community. Over the years, he has served on or advised many Catholic and civic organizations, including Our Lady’s Inn, archdiocesan Respect Life Apostolate, Catholic Charities Board of Directors Programs, Research & Quality Improvement Committee, the Knights of Columbus, Lawyers For Life, St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Louis Ambassador Committee, The Academy of St. Louis Advisory Committee, and the St. Clement School Board and Pro-Life Committee. He also has served as a tutor and speech team coach at the Missouri School For The Blind. In 2024, he volunteered countless hours to unite a broad coalition of religious and secular organizations in defense of Missouri’s longstanding pro-life laws. He continued that leadership in 2026 by bringing together existing and new partners to support efforts to restore pro-life protections for women and children in the current Amendment 3 campaign.
Each year, the MCC recognizes a Catholic citizen, couple or group from each of the four Missouri dioceses who strive toward the same goal, giving of themselves to better the lives of others. Award recipients exemplify good citizenship in promoting Catholic values in the public policy arena and in their local communities and parishes.
Red Mass for legal professions
Archbishop Mitchell T. Rozanski will preside at the annual Red Mass for legal professionals at 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis. The Mass honors the judiciary and legal communities, public servants and their families. A reception will follow Mass.
Presentation on Michelle Duppong
All are invited to a presentation on the life of Servant of God Michelle Duppong by her parents, Ken and Mary Ann Duppong, at three locations in the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Michelle Duppong was a U.S. Catholic laywoman who served as a FOCUS missionary and worked in the Diocese of Bismarck before dying of cancer at age 31. The Duppongs will speak at 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Bloomsdale, 175 Jersey Lane; and from 6:30-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, at St. Gianna in Wentzville, 450 E. Highway N.
On Sunday, Oct. 11, the Shrine of the Miraculous Medal in Perryville will host the Duppongs for a day of events, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., including a showing of “Radiating Joy: The Michelle Duppong Story Documentary,” Rosary and Q&A.
Permanent deacon info nights
The Office of the Permanent Diaconate will hold informational meetings for men who are interested in exploring the possibility of a vocation to the permanent diaconate at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, and Monday, Oct. 19. White Mass for medical professionals
Archbishop Mitchell T. Rozanski will preside at the annual White Mass for health care professionals at 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis. The Mass is associated with St. Luke, the patron of physicians and surgeons, whose feast day is Oct. 18. Catholic physicians, nurses, physicians’ assistants, emergency personnel, other health care professionals and their families are invited. A reception will follow Mass.

The School Sisters of Notre Dame will host an estate sale from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Oct. 15, 16 and 17 at 320 E. Ripa Ave. in St. Louis. The sale will include antiques, collectibles, liturgical and religious pieces, furniture, bedding, dishes and household items. Preview available items at estatesales.net starting Oct. 8.
