Discernment 101
Join the Daughters of St. Paul for Discernment 101, a series of Saturday morning talks, prayer and fellowship for single Catholic women ages 16-33 looking to grow in relationship with God and discern His call in their lives. Held at Pauline Books & Media Center, 9804 Watson Road in Crestwood, each session begins with 8:30 a.m. Mass in the Sisters’ chapel, followed by light refreshments, a talk, discussion, an hour of eucharistic adoration and lunch. A Zoom option is available for those unable to attend in person. Gun recycling event
A Guns to Gardens recycling event will be held from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at St. John the Baptist Church campus, 4200 Delor St. in St. Louis. Guns can be surrendered unloaded and in the trunk of the vehicle. A $100 Aldi gift card will be given for every gun surrendered (two cards maximum) while supplies last.
Faithful citizens
Seeds of Justice Network will host “How Common is the Common Good? Rights and Responsibilities of Faithful Citizens” on Friday, Oct. 7, at St. Louis University High School. Bishop John Stowe, OFM Conv., bishop of Lexington, Kentucky, and president of Pax Christi USA, will draw on Catholic social teaching to consider what faithful citizenship looks like when guided by Gospel values. Retreat with the Sisters of Life
The Sisters of Life will host a women’s retreat Oct. 16-18 at the Augustine Institute in Florissant. The weekend will include prayer, Mass, confession and eucharistic adoration. The Sisters will lead talks on topics including prayer, feminine genius and mercy. The weekend, aimed at women seeking spiritual renewal, includes lodging and meals. World Mission Sunday Mission Carnival
All are invited to the 100th World Mission Sunday Mission Carnival from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, at the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury. The event will bring together families and fries for a fun afternoon to support the missionary activity of the Church around the globe. Attendees will enjoy games, delicious food and the chance to win fabulous prizes. Tickets are $25 for adults, and children under 18 will be admitted for free. All proceeds will be directed to the World Mission Sunday collection taken up for the Pontifical Society for the Propagation of the Faith.
