Respect Life honorees

Adam Wright of Covenant Catholic Radio Network received the Cardinal Carberry Award at the annual Respect Life Conference held Oct. 4 at the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury. The award is presented annually to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the pro-life movement. The honor is named after the late Cardinal John J. Carberry, who started the archdiocesan Pro-Life Committee in St. Louis — the first in the nation — after the Roe v. Wade decision in 1973. Wright, a member of St. Lucy Parish in St. Louis, has been the on-air host for Covenant Network Catholic Radio, where he steers the morning drive show, “Roadmap to Heaven,” where he has interviewed pro-life advocates ranging from local parishioners to national proponents. He also was a committed voice who rallied for a defeat of Amendment 3 in 2024.

Brian Niehaus, director of client outreach for Coalition Life, also was recognized with a Friend for Life Award, which is given to individuals doing extraordinary work in their pro-life ministries. Niehaus started with Coalition Life in 2019 as an intern, assists as a sidewalk counselor and has led youth in Catholic and pro-life events ranging from 40 Days for Life and March on the Arch in St. Louis to Steubenville youth conference in Springfield, Missouri, to the March for Life in Washington, D.C. He is a member of St. Gianna Parish in Wentzville.
