Obituary | Sr. Gerarda Augustyniak, OSF
A funeral Mass for Sister Gerarda Augustyniak, OSF, was celebrated Jan. 3 in the Lally Room on the Cardinal Carberry Campus of Cardinal Ritter Senior Services. Sister Gerarda died Dec. 29 at Mary, Queen and Mother Center. She was 95 and a Franciscan Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help for 78 years.
Born in St. Louis in 1921, she entered the community in 1937 and professed perpetual vows in 1943.
Sister Gerarda was certified in dietary administration and food service management, giving joyful service in that ministry until her retirement. She served in St. Louis, Arizona, Illinois, Louisiana and Iowa. In her last assignment, she ministered as Food Service Manager for 13 years at the Villa St. Joseph Child Care Center in Ferguson.
She is survived by a sister, Jennie Wright. Burial was at Resurrection Cemetery.
