Sister Timothy Cullen, a retired homemaker and food service worker with the Sisters of the Most Precious Blood, died March 23 at age 92.
A St. Louis native, she entered the Sisters of the Most Precious Blood’s novitiate in 1949 and professed first vows in 1951.
Sister Timothy served at St. Agnes in Bloomsdale; Most Sacred Heart and St. Sabina in Florissant; St. Domenico Home and the Archbishop’s Residence in St. Louis; St. George in Affton; the motherhouse and novitiate in O’Fallon; and at St. Joseph’s Home for the Aged (later Mount Carmel) in St. Charles.
In 2005, she retired from Mount Carmel and began the ministry of prayer and presence in O’Fallon where she volunteered in many capacities; as recently as this past summer, she was still helping to distribute mail.
Sister Timothy was known as a woman of simple and deep faith, with the ability to make each person feel that she or he was the most special person in her life.
A memorial Mass will be held at a later date when her family can attend safely. A wake was held at Baue Funeral Home on March 30, followed by burial in the convent cemetery.
