Men, women with ties to St. Louis profess vows, ordained for religious communities

Adorers of the Blood of Christ

Sister Sarah Harbaugh, ASC, made her final profession of vows on Dec. 6, 2025, at St. Augustine of Canterbury Church in Hecker, Illinois. She attended Gibault Catholic High School in Waterloo, Illinois, and earned a master’s in social work from Newman University. She has served at Our Lady’s Inn and Bethany Christian Services in St. Louis.

Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Sr. Allison Zink

Sister Allison Zink, ASCJ, renewed her vows in Rome on July 25. Sister Allison is from Ascension Parish in Chesterfield and attended Incarnate Word School and Marquette High School, both in Chesterfield. She is serving in the Diocese of Bridgeport, Connecticut.


Carmelite Sisters of the Divine Heart of Jesus

Sr. Mariana Joy of the Heart of Jesus

Sisters M. Magdalene Therese of the Merciful Father, Mariana Joy of the Heart of Jesus and Anunciata Grace Jones renewed their vows on July 2 at the Carmelite Sisters of the Divine Heart of Jesus in Kirkwood. Sister Mariana Joy, the former Emma Ackerman, is from Ascension Parish in Chesterfield and attended St. John Paul II Preparatory School.

Br. Dominic

Brother Dominic, OSB, (formerly Daniel Martin) professed simple vows on Sept. 14, 2025, at Conception Abbey in Conception, Missouri. Brother Dominic grew up in Our Lady of the Pillar Parish in Creve Coeur and is a graduate of Chaminade College Preparatory School.


Congregation of Holy Cross

Rev. Mr. Keenan Bross

Rev. Mr. Keenan Bross, CSC, professed final vows on Aug. 29 at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart and was ordained as a transitional deacon on Aug. 30 at Moreau Seminary, both in Notre Dame, Indiana. Deacon Bross is from St. Theodore Parish in Flint Hill and is a graduate of St. Dominic High School in O’Fallon.


Daughters of St. Paul

Sister Catherine Lucia Phoebe Addington, FSP, professed first vows with the Daughters of St. Paul in Boston on Feb. 14. She previously was missioned with the Pauline Sisters in St. Louis. Sister Amanda Marie Detry, FSP, professed her perpetual vows on June 27 at St. Raymond-St. Elizabeth Church in Crestwood. She also was missioned in St. Louis.


Dominicans (Province of St. Joseph)

Br. Michael Marie Prize

Brother Michael Marie Prize, OP, renewed his vows on Aug. 15. He is from St. Gianna Parish in Wentzville. Brother Michael is currently studying at the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C.


Dominicans (Province of St. Albert the Great)

Fathers Dominick Jean and Joseph Van Havermaet, OP, were ordained to the priesthood for the Dominican Friars, Province of St. Albert the Great on May 16 at St. Pius V Church in St. Louis. Archbishop Mitchell T. Rozanski presided at the ordination Mass.

Additionally, Brothers Augustine Culligan, Joseph Hilliker, Jacob Mazur-Batistoni, Andrés María Trujillo and Bernard Wierdak, OP, made their solemn profession and Brothers John Rickert, Pier Giorgio Honner, Elijah Danaher and Francisco Carreon professed simple vows on Aug. 3 at St. Vincent Ferrer Church in River Forest, Illinois. They will continue their Dominican formation with graduate studies at Aquinas Institute of Theology in St. Louis.


Dominican Friars (Province of St. Martin de Porres)

Brother Samuel Wharton, OP, made his solemn profession on May 23 at St. Anthony of Padua Church in New Orleans, and Brothers Joseph Marquis, Pepper Markovich, Fulton Augustine Sostre and Isidore Rose Pickell professed simple vows on Aug. 8 at St. Albert the Great Priory in Irving, Texas. They will continue their Dominican formation with studies at Aquinas Institute of Theology in St. Louis.


Leaven of the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Sister Mary Gianna, LIHM, renewed her temporary vows on May 13 before the student body of Notre Dame Schools at Holy Redeemer Church in Portsmouth, Ohio. The former Cherubimaris Kimberly Casino attended Ascension Parish in Chesterfield and is a graduate of Visitation Academy and Saint Louis University. She also taught at St. John Paul II Preparatory School in St. Charles.


Missionaries of Charity

Sisters M. Ana Belen and Goretti, MC, professed their first vows on May 24 in San Francisco. The two are missioned with the Missionaries of Charity in St. Louis.


Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest

Two members of St. Francis de Sales Oratory in St. Louis received minor orders on June 29 at the seminary of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest in Gricigliano, Italy. Abbé Michael LaZella received the order of acolyte and Abbé Trent Hickey received the orders of porter and lector.

Sisters of St. Francis of the Martyr St. George

Sister Maria Consuela Garzon, FSGM, professed perpetual vows on Aug. 1 with the Sisters of St. Francis of the Martyr St. George in Alton, Illinois. The former Rachel Garzon is from Immaculate Conception Parish in Dardenne Prairie and is a graduate of St. Dominic High School in O’Fallon. Sisters M. Cecilia Abbadessa and Mary James Becker also professed perpetual vows on Aug. 1 in Alton. They both served at Mother of Good Counsel Home in Northwoods.


Jesuits

Fr. Daniel Finucane

Father Daniel J. Finucane, SJ, was ordained a priest on June 13 at St. Francis Xavier (College) Church in St. Louis. An alumnus of St. Louis University High School and Saint Louis University, he is a Jesuit of the USA Central and Southern (UCS) Province of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits). He was baptized in St. Francis Xavier (College) Church, the same church where he was ordained. Archbishop Mitchell T. Rozanski presided at the ordination Mass.

After ordination, Father Finucane spent the rest of the summer at St. Francis Xavier (College) Church. In the fall, he will move to Denver, where he will serve as an assistant to the novice director in the Novitiate of St. Stanislaus Kostka and as chaplain at Regis University.

Father Randy Gibbens, SJ, professed final vows on Jan. 30 in Houston. Father Gibbens studied at Saint Louis University, earning a master’s degree in philosophy. He also served as the Jesuit USA Central and Southern Province’s vocations promoter and is now the president of Cristo Rey Jesuit College Preparatory School of Houston.

Father J. Patrick Hough, SJ, professed final vows on Nov. 15, 2025, in the Chapel of the North American Martyrs at Jesuit High School in New Orleans. Father Hough frequently presided at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis while he was serving in province administration in St. Louis in 2023. He is the director of Grand Coteau Retreats in Grand Coteau, Louisiana.

Rev. Mr. Jorge Roque, SJ, was ordained a transitional deacon on April 11 at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint-Denis in France. He previously studied at Saint Louis University.


Salesian Sisters of St. John Bosco

Sr. Anne Marguerite

Sister Anne Marguerite Weis, FMA, renewed her vows on Aug. 4 with the Salesian Sisters of St. John Bosco in Haledon, New Jersey. The former Anne Weis of St. Ferdinand Parish in Florissant attended Rosati-Kain High School and Truman State University before entering the community. She will serve at Academy of Our Lady, an all-girls Catholic high school in Marrero, Louisiana, this year.


Franciscan Friars of the Renewal

Br. Francis Immaculata

Brother Francis Immaculata, CFR, renewed his vows with the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal on July 21 in New York. The former Ryan Box of St. Paul Parish in St. Paul is a graduate of St. Dominic High School and attended Kenrick-Glennon Seminary. He is now assigned to Our Lady of Angels Friary in the Bronx, New York, serving the youth within the community.

Sister Miriam of the Holy Spirit, OCD, made her final profession with the community in St. Louis on Aug. 22.

Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Sisters Nhu Nguyen, and Uyen Vu, ACI, renewed their vows in January 2026. Both of them recently returned to Vietnam after completing studies at Saint Louis University.

Sr. Mary Francis

Sister Mary Francis, O. Praem, professed perpetual vows on May 16 at St. Malachy’s Church in Tehachapi, California. The former Rose Ritter is from St. Joseph Parish in Josephville and attended Fort Zumwalt North High School.


Religious Sisters of Mercy of Alma, Michigan

Sister John Henry Marie, RSM, professed her first vows on Aug. 15. The former Sophia Teresa Forget is from St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish in Concord Hill. Sister Karoline Marie, RSM, professed her final vows on Aug. 16. The former Stephanie To is from the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis.


Daughters of Our Mother of Peace

Sr. Catherine Marie Brophy

Sister Catherine Marie Brophy, SMP, made her first profession with the Daughters of Our Mother of Peace in High Ridge on June 13. She has been missioned to door-to-door evangelization at Holy Name of Jesus Parish in north St. Louis County.


Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word (San Antonio)

Sister Carmen Ramirez, CCVI, renewed her vows on Aug. 15. She is serving as a volunteer at Incarnate Word Academy and the Incarnate Word Foundation.


Community of the Beatitudes

Brother Steven Heine, cb, renewed his vows with the Community of the Beatitudes on Sept. 1. Brother Steven is from Good Shepherd Parish in Hillsboro and attended Hillsboro High School, Southeast Missouri State University and Jefferson College before entering the community. He is studying philosophy with the community in Toulouse, France.
