Beyond Sunday grants, scholarships for 2020-21 year amount to more than $2.4 million

The Roman Catholic Foundation of Eastern Missouri has awarded more than $2.4 million in Beyond Sunday grants and scholarships for the 2020-21 school year to Catholic schools and students of middle-income families.

Forty schools and Parish Schools of Religion have recieved $757,000 in grants for the next school year. A total of $3.1 million in Beyond Sunday grants have been awarded since 2017.

Additionally, $1.6 million in scholarships have been awarded to 1,053 students attending 119 Catholic elementary and high schools for the 2020-21 school year. A total of $8.8 million has been awarded to 1,965 students attending 137 Catholic schools since 2016.

Beyond Sunday scholarships provide tuition assistance to middle-income families. High school Beyond Sunday scholarship recipients, Beyond Sunday Fellows, receive tuition assistance and become part of a community which meets several times each year for foundation-sponsored community service projects and shared faith experiences.
