Caritas St. Matthew

A dedication for Caritas St. Matthew, a transitional housing program for clients of Catholic Charities ministry St. Patrick Center, was held April 30. Located in the Greater Ville neighborhood of north St. Louis, the newly updated, 35-unit transitional housing facility (formerly known as McFarlane Place) supports its Veteran and Hospital to Housing programs.

Mary’s Tea

Mary’s Tea, an afternoon of sisterhood and faith in support of Gabriel’s Retreat Ministries, will take place from 1:30-4 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at St. Francis Borgia Church in Washington. Special guest Rachel Leininger, a mother, speaker and author, will share encouragement and inspiration from her own journey of faith and motherhood. Cost is $25 per person or $175 for a table of eight. Gabriel’s Retreat Ministries offers support to women facing unexpectedness in pregnancy, new motherhood and/or postpartum, as well as retreats for expecting and new fathers and ongoing support during and after pregnancy. Stained glass window presentation

All are invited to a free stained glass window presentation by Emil Frei and Associates at 11:15 a.m. Sunday, May 17, at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 3140 Meramec St. in St. Louis. An Emil Frei representative will share insight into the company’s early connection with the parish and the history and beauty of the stained glass masterpieces that survived the church’s fire of 1994 and have illuminated St. Anthony Church for more than a century.

Naming and Commendation

Immaculate Conception Parish in Dardenne Prairie will host the Rite of Naming and Commendation for an Infant Who Has Died Before Birth on Sunday, May 17, after the 10:15 a.m. Mass. The rite will take place in the chapel, 7701 Town Square Ave. The rite memorializes children who have died before birth, including miscarriage, stillbirth, abortion or accident. It also offers parents and families an opportunity to name the child and unite with our merciful God, which can help bring peaceful closure to great loss.

Adoration Under the Stars

Holy Family Parish in Port Hudson will host Adoration Under the Stars on Sunday, May 17, outside the church, 124 Holy Family Road in New Haven. There will be praise and worship music from 7:30-8 p.m., followed by eucharistic adoration from 8-9 p.m. Participants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. Next Chapter Program

The Next Chapter Program is a six-month program for people who are approaching retirement or who are recently retired. The program, which is rooted in Ignatian spirituality, assists individuals who are discerning who God is calling them to be and what God is calling them to do in their next chapter of life. The next cohort will begin in October. Information sessions will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, and Monday, June 1, at the Mercy Conference and Retreat Center, 2039 Geyer Road in Frontenac. Souls and Goals

Save the date for the return of the Office of Vocations’ Souls and Goals soccer game at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 28, at CBC High School, 1850 De La Salle Dr. Teams will be made up of priests, seminarians and high school youth. More details to come at stlvocations.org.

Roe v. Wade Memorial Mass

Archbishop Mitchell T. Rozanski will celebrate the annual Roe v. Wade Memorial Mass at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 30, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis. A pro-life Rosary and Benediction will follow Mass. A collection will be taken up for the LifeLine Coalition, which supports local agencies that directly assist and serve pregnant and parenting mothers and their children. The Mass, which was rescheduled due to inclement weather in January, is organized by the archdiocesan Respect Life Apostolate.

Perryville Corpus Christi procession

St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Perryville will host a eucharistic procession in honor of the feast of Corpus Christi on Saturday, June 6. Adoration and confessions will begin after 8 a.m. Mass; procession begins at 2 p.m. and concludes with the Vigil Mass of Corpus Christi at 4:30 p.m. The church, located at 1000 Rosati Court, is a bicentennial Jubilee pilgrimage location where faithful may obtain a special plenary indulgence.
