Seeds of Healing retreat
The Seeds of Healing retreat brings God’s healing grace to those who have lost loved ones unexpectedly from suicide, sudden, tragic or unforeseen death. The retreat will take place from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at the Marianist Retreat and Conference Center in Eureka. A ministry team will lead participants through healing prayer, discussions, sharing, learning techniques for healthy outlet of emotions and testimonies from those who are healing. Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
The annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity will be celebrated Jan. 18-25. This year’s theme is “There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling” (Ephesians 4:4). Drawing from the Christian churches of Armenia, this year’s prayer highlights the story of Noah and the covenant made between all people and God. The week will be highlighted on Sunday, Jan. 25, with an ecumenical prayer service at 7 p.m. at St. Monica Church, 12136 Olive Blvd. in Creve Coeur. Rev. Taniel Manjikian of St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Apostolic Church will preach. Archbishop Mitchell T. Rozanski will preside. The prayer service will be followed by a light reception and social.
Young Adult Pro-Life Holy Hour
A Young Adult Pro-Life Holy Hour will take place at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis. Co-sponsored by Anima Christi, Salt + Light and the Respect Life Apostolate, the evening will include a reflection from Brother Benedict Johnson, OP, followed by eucharistic adoration and the Rosary. The sacrament of reconciliation will be offered. A dinner and dessert social will follow in Boland Hall.
Roe v. Wade Memorial Mass
Archbishop Mitchell T. Rozanski will celebrate the annual Roe v. Wade Memorial Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis. There will be a Rosary after Mass, followed by a reception in Boland Hall. A collection will be taken up for the LifeLine Coalition, a network of local agencies that directly assist and serve pregnant and parenting mothers and their children. The Mass is organized by the archdiocesan Respect Life Apostolate.
Six Saints in Sixty Minutes
Father Michael Powell, a priest of the Diocese of Joliet, Illinois, will give a presentation, Six Saints in Sixty Minutes, at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, at St. Anthony of Padua, 3133-3135 Meramec St. in St. Louis. Father Powell will explore the idea of a Jubilee Year, a custom adapted into the Christian calendar by Pope Boniface in 1300 AD. The talk will include the four patriarchal basilicas in Rome and Sts. Peter and Paul; Assisi, including Sts. Francis, Clare and Carlo Acutis; and Padua, to meet the parish’s patron saint, Anthony.
Men and Women for Christ
The archdiocesan Catholic Men for Christ conference will be held on Feb. 7, and the Catholic Women for Christ conference will be on March 21, both at the Si Commons at St. Louis University High School. Day of Hope and Healing
The archdiocesan Abortion Healing Ministry will offer a Project Rachel Day of Hope and Healing for women wounded by abortion from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at Sts.
