Creation Care Summit
The archdiocesan Laudato Si Commission will host “Creation Care Summit: Living Water, Confluence of Hope & Action” on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury. The event, aimed at aligning the archdiocese with Catholic teaching on integral ecology as outlined in Pope Francis’ “Laudato Si’” encyclical, will feature keynote speaker Heather Navarro along with a series of “Francis Talks” presented by Sister Gail Trippett, CSJ, Jason Knouft and educator Katie Lodes. The summit will explore how Catholics can respond to the call to care for creation through faith, stewardship and practical action, while connecting attendees with others committed to protecting the environment.
Blue Mass
Archbishop Mitchell T. Rozanski will celebrate the annual archdiocesan Blue Mass for first responders and their families at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis. First responders, their families and all members of the faithful are welcome to attend. A reception will follow Mass.
Marriage on Tap
Worldwide Marriage Encounter will host Marriage on Tap STL, an evening of dinner and marriage enrichment at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at Syberg’s on Dorsett in Maryland Heights. Guest speaker will be Father Paul Hoesing, president-rector of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary, who will speak on “Lifting Each Other up Before God in Spousal Prayer.” Dinner is $70 per couple/$35 per person. Gabriel’s Retreat
Gabriel’s Retreat Ministries will host its next retreat for any woman facing unexpectedness in her pregnancy or postpartum from Sept. 25-27 at La Salle Retreat Center in Wildwood. The retreat is offered at no cost to pregnant and new moms up to one year postpartum regardless of faith, marital status or pregnancy situation. Spiritual Warfare Retreat
Father Ken Geraci will host a Spiritual Warfare Retreat on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Immaculate Conception Parish in Park Hills. The daylong event, which opens at 8:30 a.m., includes the Rosary at 9 a.m., followed by talks on spiritual warfare and its key weapons, a Divine Mercy chaplet and Rosary talk, a healing service, lunch and ending with 4 p.m. Mass. Be SMART Visionary award
Michael Sonntag, a member of the archdiocesan Task Force on Gun Violence Prevention and a core team member with the Gun Sense committee at St. Margaret of Scotland Parish in St. Louis, was recently named a 2026 Be SMART Visionary. Sonntag was recognized as someone who upholds, represents and shares the tenets of Be SMART, a national campaign of Everytown for Gun Safety to promote responsible gun ownership and reduce child gun deaths.
The Gun Sense committee at St. Margaret of Scotland will host “Where Are We At?” a one-hour panel discussion at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20. The discussion will explore the current landscape of gun violence, community impacts and the policies and prevention efforts shaping the way forward for St. Louis.
