New rule for St. Louis County parishes
Following St. Louis County Executive Dr. Sam Page’s decision to revert to stricter limits within St. Louis County, Catholic parishes in St. Louis County will adhere to a new rule that rolls back occupancy limits to 25% for Masses beginning July 31. To adhere to the rule, parishes may re-implement sign-up sheets, emphasizing livestreams and adding more Masses when possible. Contact your parish for specific details.
The use of masks continues to be mandatory for entry into all parishes in the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Where it is not already mandated by local government or the parish pastor, it is also strongly encouraged to wear masks throughout Mass, with the exception of receiving Communion. Board of directors
St. Patrick Center recently welcomed three new members to its board of directors. They are: Tim Huffman, associate professor in the Department of Communication at Saint Louis University; Michelle Roosa, senior director of corporate human resources at Alter Trading Company; and John (J.T.) Timmerman, vice president of operations at Mercy Hospital St. Louis. Departing directors are Joe Castellano, Jim Cunnane, Jr., Bryan Graiff, Dennis Jenkerson and Craig Unruh. St. Patrick Center, a Catholic Charities agency, provides opportunities for self-sufficiency and dignity to people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
The board of directors of the Today and Tomorrow Educational Foundation announced the election of Roy C. Rosas to its board. Rosas is an operating executive of the private equity firm Golden Gate Capital. He has more than 22 years of leadership experience in operational planning, financial services, merger and acquisition, revenue enhancement, product development and strategic planning for Fortune 500 companies and other national and global operations. Rosas received a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School. The foundation assists faith-based and private elementary schools in providing quality, affordable and accessible educational opportunities for economically disadvantaged families through scholarships from local and national funding sources.
New Fontbonne president
Nancy H. Blattner began her role as president of Fontbonne University effective July 1. Blattner formerly served as vice president and dean for academic affairs at Fontbonne before assuming the presidency at Caldwell University, a Catholic liberal arts university in Caldwell, New Jersey, in 2009.
A native of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, her ties to the region extend beyond her tenure at Fontbonne. Blattner previously served at Southeast Missouri State University as academic associate, Office of the Provost; associate dean, School of University Studies; tenured professor in Department of English; and director of writing assessment. She holds a bachelor’s degree in secondary education/English; a master’s degree in English from Southeast Missouri State University and a doctorate in educational psychology from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.
