ACA receives top award

The Archdiocese of St. Louis Annual Catholic Appeal received three awards from the International Catholic Stewardship Council at its 2025 conference in Chicago. The ACA received the top award for excellence for Total Annual Appeal Effort, as well as honorable mention awards for Annual Appeal Poster and Annual Appeal Brochure. Each year, the ICSC recognizes archdioceses and dioceses and Catholic foundations that best promote the theology of stewardship and Catholic philanthropy throughout the year.

Pray the Rosary with the Daughters of St. Paul

Join the Daughters of St. Paul every weekday in October at 5:30 p.m. to pray the Rosary at their backyard grotto in Crestwood, 9804 Watson Road, during the month of the holy Rosary. Participants are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs.

World Mission Week

The archdiocesan Mission Office will host several prayer events during World Mission Week, Oct. 13-19. Archbishop Mitchell T. Rozanski will lead a Missionaries of Hope Prayer Service with reflections from St. Thérèse of Lisieux at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13, at the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury. The Holy Spirit Adoration Sisters (Pink Sisters) will host “Praying with the Psalms,” including a talk from Deacon Stephen Fahrig, a Q&A with the sisters, Rosary and Evening Vespers, at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, at Mount Grace Convent, 1438 E. Sam Goodwin talk

Holy Infant Parish in Ballwin will host a Jubilee Year of Hope talk with Sam Goodwin from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, in the school cafeteria, 248 New Ballwin Road. Goodwin will share his story of survival, prayer and divine intervention during his captivity in Syria. Candlelight Mass of Hope

The Our Lady of Guadalupe Pro-Life Ministry at St. Anselm Parish, 530 S. Mason Road in Creve Coeur, will host a Candlelight Mass at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, to commemorate Respect Life Month. Prayers will be offered for the return to a culture that supports human life from the moment of conception until natural death.

Sixty-six candles will be placed at the foot of the altar, each one representing over 1,000,000 babies who have been aborted in the U.S. since the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision in 1973. Prayers also will be offered for pregnant mothers who are experiencing difficulties or contemplating abortion, that they will be supported so they may choose life for their babies and care for them after birth, and for fathers to assume the great responsibility given by God.

All Saints Day Mass/Jonah Prayer Ministry training

The St. Charles Lwanga Center and the Catholic Renewal Center will offer Mass for the feast of All Saints at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Lwanga Center, 8240 Washington St. in Vinita Park. Father Royce Thomas, CSSR, pastor of St. Alphonsus “Rock” Parish, will be the celebrant. Participants are invited to submit the names of loved ones they’ve lost in the past year. A candle with their name will be placed in the church in their memory.

A Jonah Prayer Ministry training and day of reflection will be held directly after Mass. The ministry is open to anyone who has a desire to pray with and for others.
