Side by Side marriage mentor training
The next training for Side by Side marriage mentorship couples will be held from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Southern Vicariate Office, 1550 St. Mary’s Lane in Festus. The Side by Side marriage mentorship program pairs mentor couples with engaged couples for marriage preparation and continued accompaniment after the wedding day. Mentor couples should be practicing Catholics who have been sacramentally married for at least five years and are open to sharing about marriage with other couples. Respect Life Month activities
The archdiocesan Respect Life Apostolate will celebrate Respect Life Month with the 49th Annual Respect Life Conference, “Hope in the Gospel of Life,” on Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury. The conference begins at 9 a.m. and includes Mass, presentations on timely topics from Catholic and pro-life leaders, lunch, a ministry partner fair, as well as an opportunity for networking, prayer and fellowship.
The conference will feature presentations on Missouri pro-life laws and advocacy (including the new Amendment 3), keynote from past March for Life president Jeanne Mancini, “Hope in the Gospel of Life,” a panel discussion on infertility, IVF and restorative reproductive medicine, and a special teen track. The annual Life Chain will take place on Respect Life Sunday, Oct. 5, at locations throughout the greater St. Louis area. The ecumenical pro-life event, which started in 1987, unites thousands each year in peaceful prayer and witness throughout the United States and Canada. Archbishop Mitchell T. Rozanski will preside at the annual Celebrate Life Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis. Join Catholics and other pro-life leaders in asking God to restore a culture of life in the archdiocese, Missouri and the United States, honoring those lost to abortion and praying for those in need of healing from abortion. The Mass will be followed by a Rosary and reception in Boland Hall.
Mass for people with special needs
The St. Charles Borromeo Knights of Columbus Council #17106 and the St. Charles Borromeo & St. Peter Respect Life Committees are hosting a Mass for people with special needs at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at St. Charles Borromeo, 601 N. 4th St. in St. Charles. Prayer service for migrants
A Prayer of Solidarity with Migrants will take place on Sunday, Oct. 5, at St. Pius V, 3310 S. Grand Blvd. in St. Louis. Starting from their home parishes or Tower Grove Park, participants will converge at noon on the steps of St. Pius V, with the prayer service beginning at 12:30 p.m. Fellowship and hospitality will follow afterward. World Mission Rosary
In the week leading up to World Mission Sunday, Archbishop Mitchell T. Rozanski will lead a World Mission Rosary at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13, at the Cardinal Rigali Center, 20 Archbishop May Drive in Shrewsbury. Participants will pray the World Mission Rosary for the missionary work of the Church around the world. Light refreshments and fellowship will follow the Rosary. Theology on Tap
St. Louis Young Adults and Catholic Charities Young Professionals will host the next Theology on Tap at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 4 Hands at the District in Chesterfield. John and Shannon Rauch will speak about healthy dating practices.
