New CEO at St. Patrick Center
Amanda Laumeyer has been named CEO of St. Patrick Center, a ministry of Catholic Charities of St. Louis. Laumeyer, who has been acting as interim CEO, will assume the full duties immediately. For the past eight years, she has served in a leadership role at St. Patrick Center, leading the organization’s community engagement, fundraising and marketing efforts.
Laumeyer has spent her entire career in social services, with the past 11 years focused on nonprofit leadership. She is a member of FOCUS St. Louis, a regional nonprofit leadership organization; committee member of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Run, where she was recognized as the 2023 Volunteer of the Year; Class 68 Women in Leadership FOCUS St. Louis Alumni; member of Association of Fundraising Professionals St. Louis; and former board member of Nonprofit Marketers of St. Louis.
Bridges Retreat
The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola, adapted for persons from all walks of life over an eight-month period, are offered through the Bridges Foundation based in St. Louis. The retreat includes a commitment to about an hour of prayer each day, following a modern translation of the original text; personalized, one-on-one guidance from an experienced and trained prayer companion and weekly or monthly small community meetings at four locations throughout the St. Louis area. An online option is offered for those outside the area or who need a virtual experience.
The retreat runs from September to May and coincides with the Church’s liturgical calendar. Registration is limited each year to about 40 participants. Free information sessions (in-person and virtual) will be offered beginning in July.

Anniversary Mass for St. Matthew
A Mass celebrating the130th anniversary of St. Matthew the Apostle Parish will be held at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, July 30, at the parish, 2715 N. Sarah St. in north St. Louis. The parish will recognize the contributions of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, who have served at the parish since 1902; and the Jesuits, who have served at St. Matthew for 64 years. A reception will be held afterward from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Stanley and Clayton Rice Family Center, 4145 Kennerly Ave.
Back to School event at La Salle
La Salle Retreat Center, 2101 Rue De LaSalle Drive in Wildwood, will host a back-to-school event for parents at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, and Thursday, Aug. 24. Each event includes a 30-minute mindful movement stretching class to improve mind and body, followed by a gourmet brunch with mimosas. Visit www.lasalleretreat.org for more information.
