Rosati-Kain Academy signs 25-year lease for campus
Archdiocese will continue to lease the property on Lindell Ave. in the Central West End
Rosati-Kain Academy has signed a new 25-year lease agreement with the Archdiocese of St. Louis for its campus on Lindell Avenue in the Central West End.
Rosati-Kain Academy was established as an independent Catholic high school in 2023, after the archdiocese announced in fall 2022 its plans to close Rosati-Kain High School at the end of that school year. The all-girls high school and the archdiocese initially signed a three-year lease.

“We are pleased to reach this long-term agreement with Rosati-Kain Academy,” archdiocesan chief operating officer Delaney Clement said in a news release. “We are incredibly fortunate to have such a deep and enduring legacy of academic excellence rooted in faith in the City of St. Louis. We recognize and support Rosati-Kain Academy’s mission to provide young women with a strong Catholic, college-preparatory education.”
About 125 girls from 49 zip codes are enrolled at the school, according to the news release. It is the only Catholic all-girls school in the city of St. Louis.
Barbara Geisman, treasurer of the Rosati-Kain Academy board of directors and the school’s business manager, said the long-term lease is “more than a legal milestone” for the Rosati-Kain community.
“It’s the foundation on which we can confidently build our enrollment, our curriculum and rallying the support we need to ensure Rosati-Kain Academy thrives for generations to come,” Geisman said.
Rosati-Kain High School was founded in 1911 by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet and the School Sisters of Notre Dame. St. Joseph Educational Ministries, established by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, serves as the school’s canonical sponsor.
