Sr. Rehm

The funeral Mass for Sister Patricia Rehm was celebrated April 26 in the Seton Chapel at Seton Residence in Evansville, Ind. Sister Patricia died April 20 at Seton Residence in Evansville. She was 82 years old and a Daughter of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul for 62 years.

Born in St. Joseph, Mo., she entered the Daughters of Charity in St. Louis in 1956. Sister Patricia earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Marillac College in St. Louis in 1960 and a master’s degree in counseling and guidance from Xavier University in New Orleans in 1976.

Sister Patricia served as an upper elementary teacher in St. Louis at St. Patrick School from 1958-63 and St. Louise de Marillac School, 1963-70. She also taught and was a counselor in New Orleans; Keokuk, Iowa; and West Plains, Mo. She served as the local community superior in those three cities. Following certification in clinical pastoral education, Sister Patricia was missioned to Kansas City, Kan., where she served in pastoral care at Bethany Hospital and St. Joseph Care Center. She then served as a volunteer coordinator in Olathe, Kan., before moving to The Sarah Community in Bridgeton, where she assisted the senior sisters there from 2006-10. In 2010, Sister Patricia was missioned to Seton Residence in Evansville, where she also assisted the senior sisters, before her retirement.

Survivors include her brother, Thomas Rehm of St. Joseph, Mo. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery in Evansville.
