Obituary | Sister Loraine Brzozowski, OSF
A funeral Mass for Sister Loraine Brzozowski will be celebrated at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, in the Lally Room on the Cardinal Carberry Campus of Cardinal Ritter Senior Services, 7601 Watson Road in Shrewsbury. A wake will precede the Mass at 4 p.m.
Sister Loraine, a Franciscan Sister of Our Lady of Perpetual Help for 66 years, died Aug. 19, at Mary, Queen and Mother Center in St. Louis. She was 98.
Born in Dayton, Ohio, she entered the Franciscan Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in 1950 and professed perpetual vows in 1955. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Mary Manse College in Toledo, Ohio.
Sister Loraine taught in the St. Louis Archdiocese at Holy Ghost School in Berkeley and St. Pius X in Glasgow Village. She ministered as accountant and controller at St. Francis Oak Ridge Hospital in Green Springs, Ohio, for 21 years, then served as treasurer general of her congregation for 11 years. In her later years she volunteered in the St. Louis Archdiocese at Villa St. Joseph Child Care Center, The Franciscan Connection and Our Lady of the Pillar School library.
Burial is planned Aug. 29 in Resurrection Cemetery.
