Obituary | Sister Jeanne (Suzette) Granville, BVM
The funeral Mass for Sister Jeanne (Suzette) Granville, BVM will be celebrated Monday, June 18 in the Marian Hall Chapel at Mount Carmel in Dubuque, Iowa. Sister Jeanne died June 10 at Caritas Center. She was 90 and
had been in the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary congregation for 70 years.
Born on May 6, 1928, in St. Louis, she entered the BVM community Sept. 8, 1947, from St. Mary Magdalen Parish in St. Louis. She professed first vows on March 19, 1950, and final vows on Aug. 15, 1955.
In the Archdiocese of St. Louis, Sister Jeanne was director of North Deanery Catholic Elementary Schools; elementary school principal at St. Elizabeth of Hungary in Crestwood, Our Lady of Good Counsel in Bellefontaine Neighers and St. James the Greater in St. Louis; and coordinator/director of social outreach programs. She also was a teacher and/or principal in Chicago, Jackson, Miss., and Hempstead, N.Y.
