About Sister Agnes Hoormann: I absolutely loved working in the Secretariat at our Motherhouse in Rome. These were years enriched, not only by living in an international community at the center of our Society and connected to our sisters in over 40 countries, but also by sharing life, friendship and challenges with other international congregations in a city filled with spiritual energy and vitality. I was always so eager to respond when asked to come back to help out over the years. As time passed, I felt called to serve in a more contemplative apostolic ministry and for a few years I became co-director of Cedars of Peace Cabins for solitude and prayer at the Sisters of Loretto Motherhouse in rural Kentucky. How many people continue to be nourished by these little cabins in the woods! How grateful I am for this relationship with God, which began as a child running in the fields on our family farm in Florissant, was expanded in the eternal city of Rome and deepened in the Kentucky woods, not to mention nourished by all the other countries and states where I have been blessed to live as an RSCJ over 65 years!
