Sacred Heart Valley Park Lenten Speaker Series

Three evenings of inspiration and challenge! March 5, 12 & 19, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. in the Church Hall of Sacred Heart Valley Park Catholic Church.

Thurs., March 5 – Housing: Explore the challenges facing our sisters & brothers in Christ in the Southern Vicariate who lack stable, safe housing and how Christian discipleship calls us to respond.

Thurs., March 12 – Hunger: A deeper look at food insecurity: the realities, root causes, and pathways of hope. What are emerging issues, and what opportunities do we have to address them?

Thurs., March 19 – Health: Reflect on health disparities and the impact they have on the most vulnerable in our midst. How can we make a difference?

Each evening will include a discussion of the call of our faith regarding each topic, as well as testimony from experts as to the realities “on the ground” for our neighbors. We will explore specific ways that we can get involved:
Pray – what prayers do ministries and victims need?
Pay – what are specific areas of financial need?
Participate – how can we volunteer to help?
Promote – what specific advocacy is needed?
