Plarn Workshop with Fr. Michael Jennrich, OFM

These days, the fall out of our shopping trips often results in the accumulation of many plastic shopping bags. For decades now, environmentalists have encouraged us to repurpose those bags. Even Pope Francis in his encyclical Laudato Si, emphasized the importance of respecting and caring for our Mother Earth. Most recently, fiber artists have rescued plastic bags from the landfill and transformed them into useful items. Here at St Anthony’s, our own Fr. Michael, a fiber artist, is introducing the community to the Plarn Project. If you are searching for a practical way of saving the environment, are curious about what “plarn” is, and are willing to learn how to make plarn and use it for the greater good, then come to the Plarn Workshop and become a certified “Plarner.”
