From Lamentation to Hope in Action

Gather your friends and join the Franciscan Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in prayer to celebrate the encyclical by Pope Francis entitled Laudato Si’. We will meet and pray during the golden hour outdoors at Walker Lake within Kirkwood Park in Kirkwood, MO. Gather with us on Wednesday, May 20. Our service will begin at 6:30 in the evening.
Laudato Si’ Week is May 17-24 in 2026. We join people from around the world in commemorating this encyclical on climate change and our common home that stands on millennia of Catholic teaching about Creation. This year’s national theme is “From Hope to Action.” Laudatosiweek.org reminds us, “Hope is not passive; it is lived and shared through daily choices, community life, prayer, and concrete acts of care.” In keeping with that theme, our prayer service will be called “From Lamentation to Hope in Action.”
