The Volunteer & Parish Engagement Manager will lead all efforts to engage the faithful in service to others with special focus on growth of the existing Parish Ambassadors Program, implementation of the “Day of Service” throughout the Archdiocese of St. Louis, and development of programing.
Volunteer recruitment/coordination:
- Become proficient in operation or Better Impact Volunteer Platform, including updating, upgrading site, training new users and promoting usage
- Work with Vicariate Navigators and Social Outreach Directors to formalize and implement volunteer networks within Parishes/Vicariates/Deaneries
- Lead team of Volunteer coordinators throughout Catholic Charities and the archdiocese to develop and implement one strategy for volunteer engagement and coordination of activities.
- Coordinate and implement the “Day of Service” volunteer event on the Feast of Saint Vincent de Paul, September 27, along with Catholic Charities, Vicariate, and Archdiocesan support.
Parish Ambassadors:
- Lead strategic growth, increasing Parish participation by 50%
- Provide ambassadors support they need to help Parishes become anchor institutions in their Parish boundaries
- Provide ambassadors marketing material to place in their Parish spaces and weekly bulletins
- Provide ambassadors volunteer opportunities both in their Parish boundaries, at legacy ministries, and community partners
Parish Programming:
- Work with Director of Disaster Services to develop ‘Disaster-Prepared’ Parish Programs
- Work with Director of Disaster Services to form, train, and activate Disaster ‘go teams’ in the event of Natural Disaster
- Identify regional contacts in construction to help with long-term disaster recovery work, including skilled volunteer labor
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required in business, communication or related field.
- Willing to work flexible hours, particularly in times of crisis.
- Technology-savvy—skills in data management and reporting a plus.
- Knowledge of the Catholic community and St. Louis’ nonprofit community also a plus.
- Willing to work in a manner fully consistent with Catholic Social Teaching. Practicing Catholic a plus.
